How often do you have to open a full-fledged text editor just to jot something down quickly? Or launch a calculator to do a simple computation? Probably quite often.

I often face the same thing — needing to make a “throwaway” note that I’ll delete a minute later. For people like us, there’s a great app called [**Antinote**](https://antinote.io/), which at first glance simply lets you create a note and write something in it.

But behind this simple facade lies a wealth of useful features. Even from the screenshot above, you can see that the app supports **Markdown formatting** and quick text-processing functions: grammar checking, changing lowercase to uppercase, and similar tools.

The thing is, all the other features are accessible through **contextual commands**. For example, typing the command math followed by a mathematical expression makes Antinote automatically perform the calculation.
