DNS4EU is a free DNS service offering multiple protection options along with support for IPv4, IPv6, DoH, and DoT. It’s easy to set up, though you can’t manage blocklists manually.
Sometimes the default DNS provided by your ISP isn’t reliable — it may work incorrectly, be slower, or you might simply prefer an alternative solution.
One such option is the free DNS service from DNS4EU, created in collaboration with the European Union.
Using the service is very straightforward. On the main page, you can choose the type of server you prefer:
• Standard — with protection against malicious and dangerous resources
• With child protection
• With child protection and ad blocking
• A basic version — just DNS, without any extras

After selecting the preferred option, you’ll receive the connection details and, if needed, a detailed setup guide.

All DNS variants support IPv4, IPv6, DNS over HTTPS, and DNS over TLS. For a basic setup, it’s enough to enter the new DNS addresses in your network settings.

The obvious drawback of DNS4EU is that you can’t control the blocklists or know in advance which resources may be filtered. Otherwise, the service works reliably and without issues.
