How to Add a Time Machine Status Widget

I love having important information displayed in a prominent place so I don’t have to check it manually. For example, I added data about the battery level of all external devices to the Mac menu bar.

It's also important not only to make backups but to understand the current backup status. Therefore, I installed the Backup Status widget, which allows you to clearly see the status of Time Machine on the desktop or in the macOS Notification Center.

Among the displayed information, you can see all the necessary details about the backup, encryption status, and much more.

In the widget settings, you can specify which disk’s information you want to display. There are three widget sizes available for the desktop.

Cost

If you’re handy, you can assemble the installer yourself from the GitHub repository. If not, you can buy a ready-made version for $3.
