There are many extensions for quickly converting prices between currencies. But not all of them make it easy to understand exactly how much a purchase will cost you.
How Much Does It Cost? is a Google Chrome extension that not only displays the price of an item in your chosen currency but also helps you understand what percentage of your salary you’ll need to spend on the purchase.
To do this, when you first launch the extension, you’ll need to go through a fairly thorough setup wizard. In addition to selecting the currencies you’re interested in, you’ll need to specify your location and hourly wage.
All of this is necessary so that when you hover over a product’s price, How Much Does It Cost? shows not only the price in different currencies but also, for example, how many cups of coffee the product costs in your city.
