Generally, desktop operating systems don’t offer much flexibility when it comes to customizing notification appearance. At best, you can disable them or change their position. Fortunately, third-party tools can help.

Linux users with the Gnome desktop environment can try the [**Notification Configurator**](https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/8249/notification-configurator/) app, which lets you adjust nearly every aspect of how notifications are displayed.
