Browser extensions have long been able to compete in capabilities with full-fledged applications. But we often treat them as something safe, installing them without even thinking about the consequences. There have been cases where extensions change ownership and begin to collect extra data about your online activities for resale or displaying ads.

To avoid the latter problem, you can install the [**Under New Management**](https://github.com/classvsoftware/under-new-management) extension, which allows you to monitor developer changes. It is available for Google Chrome and Firefox browsers, with open-source code.

When such a change occurs, you will receive a corresponding notification.
