Mousegic makes any mouse “smart”: it lets you assign actions and gestures to buttons, just like in Logitech’s proprietary software.
Smart mice, such as those from Logitech, come with apps that allow you to perform various useful actions when pressing buttons. But there are also regular mice with plenty of extra buttons — and they can be made smart too.
To do this, you can install the free Mousegic utility, which replicates the features of similar Logitech apps and lets you assign quick actions to any mouse button.

You can add actions like launching programs or copying text to the clipboard. In addition, quick actions can also be assigned to mouse gestures. For example, holding a button and moving the mouse to the left can take you to the previous page.
