Seedtime — A Gardener's To-Do List

Planting a productive crop correctly isn’t always easy—even when you follow instructions or old family superstitions. There’s always a chance to mess something up. Thankfully, there are helpful apps even for small farm and garden owners.

Seedtime is a web and mobile application designed to help you plant various crops on time and correctly. It offers several useful tools: a calendar, a to-do list, and field planning features.

That said, I’ll point out upfront that the service likely won’t be very useful for Russia—there’s no data available for this region. However, you can use the built-in AI to help.

How It Works

When registering, you’ll be asked not only for a username and password, but also for your country and zip code. You can change these later, but I recommend entering them correctly right away since the app uses this data to suggest planting schedules.

For example, on the main screen shown above, Seedtime predicts frost dates based on your location and growing zone. Note, however, that zones are determined by the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) classification.

You’ll then get access to several tools designed to help you plant crops properly and on time. You start by heading to the Calendar section and adding your crops along with the action you want to schedule.

In the example above, I create a task to plant amaranth for the warm season. Seedtime auto-generates the list of tasks and planting schedules, but you can add or edit them as needed.

These events are then displayed on the calendar on the appropriate dates.

On the left panel, a task list is also displayed. Tasks can be edited, duplicated, or linked with subtasks.

The Tasks section essentially mirrors the Calendar—they offer the same functions, just with different visuals.

Other Features

There’s also a Journal section where you can take notes on your gardening activities manually.

In the paid version of Seedtime, you get access to field planning and inventory management. Unfortunately, these sections are completely locked in the free version, so I couldn’t try them or see how they work.

Pricing

Technically, you can use Seedtime for free—but it’s very limited. You can only add one crop, and many features are locked.

To unlock full functionality, you’ll need a subscription starting at $10 per month.
