Winpilot Brings Back Clippy with AI Support

Old-timers remember Clippy, who was always ready to help with any problems in Windows, Word, and other office applications. Today, you can bring him back too, but this time enhanced with neural networks.

You can do this with the Winpilot utility, which is a continuation of another project, Bloatynosy to BloatynosyAI. With it, you can not only get useful advice from Clippy but also perform several other useful tasks.

Upon the first launch, you will be prompted to configure Windows or ask a question to the virtual assistant. These settings will be especially useful for Windows 11 users since this version of the OS features ads in the Start menu. The utility itself is free and does not require installation.

Disabling Ads in Windows

The very first Setup option in Winpilot allows you to personalize Windows 11 and remove ads.

Among the available options are:

  • Disabling ads for each system section;
  • Enabling/disabling privacy settings;
  • Changing certain system and gaming settings;
  • Customizing the Start menu;
  • Activating Copilot.

Removing Bloatware

In the Debloat section, you can remove built-in Microsoft applications that cannot be removed by standard means. There is also a search for third-party bloatware.

Installing Applications

The Install section might not seem very useful since you've already downloaded Winpilot. Here, you can install browsers and must-have applications. This will be useful on a clean system if you don't want to open Edge.

Extension Store

The Store section helps extend Winpilot's functionality. Here, you can download various extensions for the utility. For example, there are options for clearing storage, activating Secure AutoLogon, cleaning system logs, and much more.

Heart-to-Heart Talk

The last available option in the utility is Ask Clippy. Here, you can ask Clippy any question, and its neural brain will try to answer.

The magic works through Windows Copilot and requires authorization with a Microsoft account. Naturally, it doesn't work in unsupported countries. But you can still find answers to some default questions, like enabling dark mode.
