The Auto Move Windows utility for GNOME lets you set rules so that applications always open automatically in the correct workspaces.
Workspaces make it easy to separate work tasks from personal ones. Yet the problem often arises that applications still open wherever they please.
On Linux with the GNOME shell, this task can be solved with the Auto Move Windows utility.

After installing it, you simply create a new rule for any application and specify the workspace number in which it should start. Now you won’t need to manually arrange windows every time.
