Veed review. Video editor right in the browser

Veed is an online video editor with collaboration support, screencast recording, and AI-powered text-to-video transformation.

Modern browsers allow you to solve almost any problem online without the need to install full-fledged desktop applications. Of course, this solution is not very suitable for ultra-professional work. But, for example, it is quite possible to create a promotional video or video for social networks at a decent level.

What will you need for this?

Veed is an online video editor with collaboration support, screencast recording, and AI-powered text-to-video transformation.

In fact, this is not the entire list of service capabilities. It would be easier to say that you will definitely find all the necessary tools here to create an advertising video. Let's find out below how well they work.

Logic of the service

After logging into Veed, you can start creating a new video in several ways: create a project from scratch or record a screencast. In addition, you can also create a virtual avatar.

Moreover, when creating a video, you can choose from dozens (if not hundreds) of templates. You can select a suitable template using a search or filter by resolution and video topic.

Another important element of the service is the ability to create your own brand book. Veed encourages teamwork, and you can be sure that everyone involved has the necessary basic assets of video, images, audio, fonts, and colors.

Video Editor Features

As I wrote above, you can start editing videos in various ways. As part of this review, I will not consider working with templates because ultimately, you always end up in the editor with the same set of features. That's exactly what we'll talk about.

Like any other video editor, in Veed you can add video, photos and audio to a project for further processing on the timeline.

You can add a file from your computer, from the cloud, via a link, from a brand book, or record what is happening on the screen here and now. If you don’t have the media you need, you can always use a stock database of videos, photos, audio, and even virtual avatars.

The added content immediately appears on the timeline, where you can immediately move it to the desired part of the future video, change its duration, or swap layers.

Each file is a separate timeline track, which is very cool for an online editor. I don’t know the maximum number of tracks, but you can add several files of the same type at once without any problems.

There are not many editing actions available from the timeline itself. Rather, some basic things, such as turning off the sound, separating, deleting and all that.

But when you click on a track, a full-fledged editor opens. Depending on the file type, the possibilities differ, but you will definitely be able to perform all the necessary actions.

Let me briefly tell you what it is:

  • Setting layer animation and speed;
  • Color correction;
  • Fade-in and fade-in options.

In addition, it is possible to use various AI tools. For example, you can add voice translation into multiple languages. There are numerous languages. You can also select the speaker's voice and the quality of the future render.

You can perform other actions:

  • Clear audio from noise;
  • Add the effect of eye contact (the speaker's eyes will always look into the camera);
  • Remove background from video;
  • Green background processing;
  • Remove the silence.

Other Editor Elements

Of course, working only with source files is not enough for cool production. Therefore, you can add additional elements to videos in Veed:

  • Subtitles — you can upload your file, create them in the editor, or add automatic ones;
  • Text layers with animation and static;
  • Various icons, badges, progress bars, etc.;
  • Transition effects and filters.

What else is possible?

If you mess up somewhere, Veed keeps a history of changes, and you can always go back to a previous version of your project. And the finished video can be easily resized to the desired size, or immediately select the size for a specific social network.

The final video can be saved as a template, downloaded, or immediately uploaded to one of the supported platforms.

Sometimes the destination does not always support heavy files. That's why the service has tools for GIF and MP4 compression. By the way, they are available without registration.

Recording screencasts

When you go to this tool, you can choose to record camera, audio, screen, or a combination of all three. Recording is supported in quality up to 1080p.

After recording, you can immediately add basic effects to the video, or add it to a project and fully edit it.

Creating an avatar

If you need a live person in the frame, but you don’t have one at hand, then you can add a video avatar. For such an avatar, you can select a voice, appearance, and language. Then all that remains is to type in the text that he will read out and add it to your project.

Price

Veed offers several plans, including free and enterprise for €58 per month. The minimum cost is €13.

Before paying, I recommend checking out the full list of differences on the separate pricing page. The main difference is only in the quality of the final video and the number of available minutes in AI tools.

I've tried numerous online video editors. Despite the coolness of each of them, in the end the set of possibilities was more or less the same.

If you do not consider the AI features, Veed also does not stand out among its competitors in terms of functionality. But unlike its analogues, it was not painful for me to work with this service. All tools work quickly and intuitively, as if it were a desktop application.

Well, if you add automatic subtitles, virtual avatars, audio translation, and all this with support for many languages… Then Veed becomes a fascinating service that can solve many video processing problems.
